Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba claims her life is in danger after she continued to receive phone calls from unidentified individuals claiming to be working with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, (DCI).
Wamuchomba was speaking at Kiambu Police Headquarters where she had presented herself to honour a summon over the heckling of some leaders during President William Ruto’s visit to Kiambu County, including in her constituency on Saturday, April 5.
“As a public servant, elected by the people of Githunguri, should anything happen to me we know who to hold responsible,” said Wamuchomba adding, “My life is in the hands of the government.”
On Saturday, April 5, Wamuchomba took to her X platform to announce that she had been summoned over the phone to appear before Kiambu County Criminal Investigation Officer after a video of her leading young people in anti-Ruto chants went viral hours before the president landed in the area.

According to the MP, the security agencies have denied calling her in leaving more questions about the source of her summon.
“Both the DCIO, CCIO, and RCIO, Dr Mugambi, have denied knowing those people. The numbers that called me have since been switched off,” she said.
Wamuchomba, an ardent stalwart of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has further accused the government of stripping her of her security last Saturday leaving her exposed.
The MP is demanding the reinstatement of her security detail, insisting that it is her constitutional right.
Additionally, the firebrand legislator says that the threats against her have also been extended to the staff of the Githunguri Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and has called for an immediate intervention.
She has also challenged President Ruto to publicly pronounce himself on the attack of political opponents after goons disrupted a church event attended by his former deputy Rigathi Gachagua in Mwiki, Kasarani.
